What your customers can see
The portal, what's shared, and what never leaves your side.
Customers get a portal where they can see their jobs, estimates, and invoices, and pay online if you've connected a payment method.
Per-invoice client-view toggles control exactly what's shown: quantities, unit prices, line-item totals, the balance-due section, and the online payment buttons can each be hidden. The payment-buttons toggle is deliberately separate from the balance toggle — a customer who's arranged to pay by check can still see what they owe without being pushed toward a method they've said they won't use.
Cost data is never sent to a customer-facing page under any circumstance. Your margins, labour costs, and part costs stay internal — this is enforced server-side, not by hiding a column.
"Viewed by client" is stamped on the invoice timeline the moment a customer actually opens their link. Previewing your own invoice via "Preview as Client" never counts, so the signal stays trustworthy.
