Is there a dispatch map on the web app?

Not today — the live technician map is in the mobile app only. On the web you dispatch from the calendar and the unassigned-work list, with the assistant available to suggest who's free.

Do technicians have to share their location all the time?

By default, no — location is reported only while a technician is actively clocked into a job, it's a single latest point rather than a tracked route history, and it goes stale after 30 minutes without an update. Separately, a technician can opt into automatic clock-in/out (Settings, on their own phone), which does use background location to detect arrival at and departure from a job site. It's off until that person turns it on themselves — an owner can't enable it on someone else's behalf.

Is this real turn-by-turn routing?

It's real drive-time route ordering, not in-app turn-by-turn navigation. When a Google Maps API key is connected, re-ordering today's stops uses actual driving times from Google's Distance Matrix — accounting for roads and one-way systems, not just distance as the crow flies. Without a key connected, it falls back to straight-line distance and says so rather than pretending otherwise. Turn-by-turn directions themselves still hand off to your phone's own Maps app, same as every field service tool does — nobody builds their own navigation.
