Assigning work to the right person

You can assign a visit directly from the job, or from the calendar by dragging it onto someone.

Technician availability is set per person (Team → the member → Availability) as their working days and hours. Assignment doesn't hard-block outside those hours — it warns you — because real field work sometimes runs late and a system that refuses to record what actually happened is worse than one that flags it.

Ask the assistant. "Who's free Thursday afternoon?" or "who's closest to this job?" both work. Proximity is calculated as straight-line distance between saved addresses and re-orders stops by how near they are — it is not driving distance, and there are no turn-by-turn directions or ETAs. Treat it as a sensible starting order, not a route plan.

Address geocoding only happens for businesses that have connected SerpApi, and only for addresses saved since that connection. Without it, proximity suggestions aren't available.
